Training

To be a strong lacrosse player requires several physical elements such as speed, power and agility. These physical attributes will vary in each player. Some players are gifted with incredible athleticism that enable them to perform on the lacrosse playing field. Other players may struggle with one of these components. For all athletes, even the gifted ones, sport training is an integral part of their development process. VIMY LACROSSE provides each student-athlete with dedicated time in the fitness centre with certified professionals. Our trainers understand the physical requirements of the sport of lacrosse and build training programs specific to the demands of the game.

The overall training process is built around functionality. Specific exercises are developed to ensure that athletes are performing movements that mimic the playing of the game. The game of lacrosse requires quick acceleration bursts with power movements against the opposition. VIMY LACROSSE trains its student-athletes in these conditions so they are prepared for the rigors of the game. We believe that the time spent on this aspect of a player’s game will pay off in dividends down the line. We are extremely committed to working with our student-athletes to make this a priority in their development.
